My name is Troy and I’m the Settle in Service co-ordinator based at the Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital.
I am writing to you, to ask for your help in promoting for potential volunteers for the Settle in Service. This is a Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital volunteer role which is based out in the community helping patients on the day they are discharged. The volunteers support these patients through completing tasks at the patient’s home to ease that patient back into a normal home routine.
These tasks can include: food shopping, preparing a light meal, making a cup of tea, unpacking bags, checking the heating is on and the lights are working, emptying bins and emptying the fridge of old food.
No regular commitment is required. Volunteers will receive referrals on an ad-hoc basis for patients who live as close to the volunteer as they are willing to travel.
We felt this would be a role that your parishioners might find rewarding by supporting patients in their parish and their community.
