Ken’s Whitlingham Walk

Ken’s Whitlingham Walk for BUILD

The Whitlingham Walkathon, on Saturday 21st May 2016, is encouraging people to complete as many 2.25 mile laps of the Whitlingham Broad as they can in return for a personal joining fee of £5 and as much sponsorship as they can raise from friends, family and supporters.

Anyone can join in to raise funds to help the BUILD Charity keep it prices as low as possible to provide social, leisure and learning opportunities to people with sensory, physical or learning disabilities. Find out more at www.buildcharity.co.uk

Please support us by either taking part, or sponsoring the team of walkers, which will include people with disabilities, and our Board of Trustees who have all committed to take part in the event. If you are a UK tax payer please commit to Gift Aid which raises more money for us, without costing you a penny.

Result…..

Many thanks to all those who supported us (me, Dexter & Ted) for yesterday’s sponsored walk. 5 laps duly completed for me and Dex, estimate Ted ran about 11.48! Lap times as follows;
1 – warm up, a mediocre 39 mins;
2 – 62 mins, excellent effort from all, especially Victor;
3 – 58 mins with David, Simon, Clare, Nick, Chris and Val
4 – me and David steppin out, 38 mins
5 – final lap, time trial, 34 mins, not bad for an old guy!!

Thanks also to those who have still to hand over the cash or are still thinking about it. Best regards, k, Dexter & Ted 😎
