Minutes of the meeting held in the Trinity on Tuesday November 11th
1.Apologies for absence were received from K Dyke and M Dyke.

2. Approval of minutes of 2nd of September were approved.

3.East Pye…the next steps were agreed as

  • Thevillage meeting to update/explain where we are in the process, especially the likely impact of the current access proposals of East Pye re delivery eyc of panels…especially given our narrow lanes, with their ditches, bends, hedges and roadside trees.
  • Councillors agreed to help prepare a response for the above meeting and eventually the very necessary response to East Pye.

4.Shotesham Ford….

  • A meeting with all key agencies was confirmed/agreed.

5.Review of expenditure in 2025/6 to prepare for precept level for 2026/27

  • The clerk shared an update of the actual and predicted expenditure for 2025/26.
  • The need for a set of replacement defibrillator pads was agreed and will be added to the ‘potential’ expenditure.
  • Of greater impact would be the upgrade of the ‘speed’ camera. Sources of revenue will be investigated and reported back to the next meeting.
  • On present estimates there will be a small carry over to 2026/27..

6.Speeding vehicles on entering Shotesham along Rogers Lane.

  • This hazard to our many walkers who come to enjoy Shotesham and riders both on cycles and horses was accepted.
  • Steps will be taken to assess/organise what can be done to make traffic coming from the Saxlingham direction be aware of the 30mph zone thus expecting drivers to reduce their speeds much earlier than at present

7.Reported sewage overflow into Bec after heavy rainfall.

  • It was suggested the commons trustee should meet with the cob=nerned villager and review the bec and where the effluent may be coming from
  • If possible a sample of the bec water should be taken.
  • An approach will be made to the Tas River Trust to seek their guidance.

8.Planning application 2025/2236 Land north of Priory Lane.

  • The consultation date has been extended until 30th November

9.Defibrillator session Monday 17th November.

  • The attendance level has beeb excellent. All places are now filled

10.Correction to the Walks Booklet re FP8.

  • All known Walks Booklets still available have been amended to show that FP 8 is not closed from Market Lane to Stubbs Green

Currently the PROW Officer is responsible for replacing the missing Footpath signs and checking the route is walkable.
