Memories of Village Life

The Shotesham Heritage Group has been recording the memories of village residents, past and present. The project started in 2013 by interviewing villagers who were at Shotesham School when the German V2 rocket exploded in Joy’s Loke, at 9.25am on 6th October 1944, narrowly missing All Saints church and the school. These interviews formed the basis of a 70th anniversary exhibition at the Trinity Hall in October 2014.

Extracts from these interviews, and other memoirs of Shotesham, are being added to this website. This oral history forms part of the growing Shotesham Village Archive. If you have any memoirs, documents, artefacts or photographs that we could copy for the Archive, do please contact Sara Webber at webber.sj@btinternet.com.
