Minutes of the Annual General Meeting of Shotesham Parish Council held in The Trinity on Tuesday 10th of June at 7.30pm.
1.Apologies for absence.

2. Election/ Appointment of Officers for 2025/2026.
i) Appointment of Chairman

The Clerk as Finance Officer and Proper Officer.

The Chairman also ‘thanked’ the many people who work hard and quietly to enhance the village.
- Finance
· The clerk presents the annual accounts for 2024/25 as audited to the members for acceptance. The accounts were accepted.
· Certificate of Exemption was agreed and will be signed by the Chairman.
- A brief report from the Chairman in respect of the ‘Village Meeting of Tuesday 13th of May.
· The Mill Ford. All members stressed the value to Shotesham as a well-used route to and from the village by both residents etc and the local farmers. It was reported that the farmers have now to use the A47 by-pass to reach their fields when there is a need for heavy duty farm machinery for their upkeep. The parish council regrets its continued closure and hopes it can be safely reopened
· Speeding in the village. It was agreed that steps would be taken to examine what is the current availability/the potential cost of a suitable monitor and the possibility of grants to help defray the cost.
· East Pye solar farm. The next stage in the consultation re the future of East Pye has begun. It was reported that a ‘Landscape Survey’ will be done. Attendance at the ‘village walks’ is recommended whether one is for, against or neutral re the East Pye scheme. In a similar way it was stressed that all PC members and villagers should endeavour to attend the East Pye consultation/information sessions. At the appropriate point the PC will make its own formal submission re the proposed solar farm.
· Defibrillator Training Steps are being taken to set up another session re ‘the defibrillator/immediate response to allow everyone to ‘be prepared’.
· Date of next meeting …..next meeting planned for the 12th of August ..unless ‘urgent’ business arises.
