Village Meeting held on Monday 27th of July at the Trinity to discuss the NCC proposed permanent closurer of The Ford.
In attendance ….H Jackson. Kim Dyke, Mark Dyke and DC J Cook
Apologies……………J Nott, H Walker, J Webber and S Dinsdale
The Chairman shared the current position with attendees.
All in attendance were in favour of keeping the Ford open ..with. if necessary, extra waning signs and more depth gauges.
The feeling was that such roads with fords were part of the history of Norfolk roads/byroads and should stay open
The various extra measures such as making the ‘causeway’ much cleaner with grooves and with a series of’ metal ‘stakes’ on the down side were readily accepted and the PC were encouraged to continue actively pursuing these matters.
John Cook reinforced the points made re:- that one should consider the impact of improved signage and all possible measures before closing the road. .
The meeting ‘Thanked’ the Chairman for the opportunity to share thoughts and concerns.
